obrienmd 2 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Is it possible to have Emby automatically, maybe during the auto org process, transcode things permanently to a useful (h264 at fairly high bitrate) format? I have a ton of media that requires transcode on-the-fly, and while it can be done manually it would be great to be able to avoid on-the-fly transcoding for the majority of my devices (Roku, Chromecast, etc.).
Luke 42080 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Hi, welcome. Yes - it is. Not exactly during auto-orgnanize, but the folder sync feature can convert content to streaming friendly formats. You can read more about it here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Folder%20Sync

I just got a new homelab/server and Emby is the tits. I will be getting lifetime as soon as I get my paycheck. You guys deserve EVERY PENNY. Keep rocking on fellas. 1

Is it expected behavior to try to re-encode images?
