paul777 13 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Has anyone else noticed that the images displayed when scrolling quickly through a library on the FTVS are fairly random. I have a library of a few hundred films and if I hold the button down to scroll though the library the images displayed are pretty random and I have no idea where I really am until I release the button and let it sort itself out. Even then it takes it a good second or so to sort out all the images. It would be nice it the text at the top changed as well but that seems to stay fixed until you release the button.
ebr 16169 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 The Stick, right? This is a downside to the "recycling" of views that the standard interface uses in order to be able to display large lists of items. On the true FTV boxes it is much less noticeable but still there.
paul777 13 Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Yes, this is on the stick. It would be less of an issue it the title at the top of the screen changed as you were going through as this would provide some indication of where you were, not sure if that is possible. Another idea would be to allow the ff/rw buttons to do paging?
ebr 16169 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Yeah, I can make just the title change in real-time. That might slow the scrolling down just a bit but probably still be okay.
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 ebr, have you looked at switching from Picasso to Glide? They are nearly syntactically identical. Not sure if it's faster but if you create a new Leanback app in Android studio it's the new default. Seems Google is moving away from Picasso going forward. 1
