Do you have the realtime folder monitoring enabled?

Yes, does that explain why, during a library scan, all my library items disappear?

No, I was just thinking about emby catching new media items without a full refresh.

In the past, during long media scans, libraries seem to disappear for the first 10% of the scan but then begin rebuilding after that.

Metadata is being cached so this might explain why it would happen during some initial scans of libraries, or when they change some indexing of the cache and have to rebuild it for some updates.

But media scans should be quick after that, and you shouldn't really notice your library disappear.

Realtime only affect Windows installations,  From testing only movies will trigger a library scan, not episode but they do appear in library as added without a full library scan, at least on Windows.  The realtime monitor is set to 40 seconds.  Not sure on other media types.

Having two servers one with 15+TB and another with 30+TB the only time I see the library not available is immediately after starting the server.  Everything is available within about 15 seconds after server is started.

Could this be an issue for people with external drives/usb or remote media?  All my media is internal drives.

Do your drives spin down?

This error here;

Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted

The server binds to an IP, but when shutting down, once in a while windows will take several minutes to release it. Then you restart and we're unable to bind because the previous instance hasn't released yet. The best way to avoid this is to try to avoid frantically restarting the server repeatedly in an attempt to solve a problem. Now that you're caught up in it, the problem will usually go away after a few minutes and you'll be able to start the server back up, or just reboot the computer.

Since you have been creating a multitude of threads about various issues I would again suggest stripping down to the core server installation without any plugins and then add from there.
