Not sure file duplication would solve the problem that you're looking to solve. All it will do is eat storage space.

 

What apps are your having the problem in? Those apps probably need more caching control on the device.

Images are already cached in a number of places so this isn't really going to accomplish anything other than taking up more space.

6 Mb/s isn't really all that fast...

Your configuration is going to cause latency just from Internet Routing. If you're using larger images (1500 X 1000 posters, 1920 X 1080) backdrops that aren't optimized for downloading, you're going to have issues. Some of my images are 5-7 megabytes in size before optimizing them. That is a lot of data to pull down and would eat up a 6 megabit/second upload speed. Are you sure you don't mean 6 Megabytes (MB as opposed to mb)?

 

I have everything internal and my Rokus are wired at 1 gigabit / second and they still have a slight delay in loading images sometimes. The web client is a lot better at local caching so it fares better.
