oldschool 16 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) I just upgraded to the latest version 3.0.5781.5. Since the upgrade, I've had some weird things going on. When I click on TV Shows from the front page, the page will load but only a few of the images would populate. Then I would refresh the browser and it will not reload the page, it will sit there and spin. That then makes the browser unusable, as it won't respond to any clicks from that browser. I noticed that when I logon from another browser on another machine it says: Oldschool has disconnected from Firefox 42.0 12/8/2015 12:15:16 pm That's when I hit the refresh button. Regardless, I can't browse my library from the web UI. server-63585169875.txt Edited December 8, 2015 by oldschool
oldschool 16 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) Actually, now that I'm looking at it, for whatever reason, I'm connecting then immediately disconnecting using the same browser window. The sequence I'm using is: I'll close the FF tab. I'll load the dashboard/front page. That shows up as the online entry in the log. Then I'll click on TV Shows, it will show only a small number of images of the TV shows I have, and then the disconnected entry shows up in the log. I must close the tab and navigate to the homepage to get Emby to respond. oldschool 16 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Ahh, wait a second. I'm using the same user from two different machines. Now that I look at the IP addresses, that might be what's causing the problems? I'm browsing from localhost on the one that gets disconnected, but it may be affecting the other computer I'm using (.20)
oldschool 16 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 OK - so it will say it's disconnecting when I hit the refresh button from the computer (.20), it just doesn't want to reconnect after I hit the refresh button. Ian-Highlander 147 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Might be worth trying it using Chrome instead of Firefox, I know Luke has posted in the past with some things Firefox doesn't play nicely with. May not be the answer, but worth trying it to check first.
oldschool 16 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 I'm having the same issue with my TV Shows using the iPhone app as well. I'm not sure if this is a problem with JUST my server or with the version changes.
Ian-Highlander 147 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Not having any issues with the same version here, everything seems to play fine in the web client, EMC and the Android client which are the only things we ever use. Sorry can't be more help than that, I'm sure someone will be able to help further though.

Most likely collections. I removed those collections, and I actually deleted the Auto Collections plugin, and I'm still having problems viewing TV Shows. I go to the page, and it doesn't load all the images of the TV shows. I can't click on any of the TV shows to go to that page because it acts like it doesn't register the click. My best solution is to close the browser tab, wait a few minutes, then open it up again. I've rebooted Emby mutliple times to get it to respond, and I've rebooted the server multiple times to see if that somehow kicks it out of the system, but I'm still having problems. This only started since I upgraded to the newest version .5. server-63585256729.txt
Solution ebr 16185 Posted December 9, 2015 Solution Posted December 9, 2015 Try removing CoverArt and see if it makes a difference. 1
oldschool 16 Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Try removing CoverArt and see if it makes a difference. Yes, that worked! I think I made one change to Cover Art, and that one change must have blown up everything. Edited December 9, 2015 by oldschool
ebr 16185 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 No, I don't think so. I don't even really think there is an issue with CA (as it isn't even being called on to process anything in these instances). There is some obscure issue with how the server is interacting with it or how the server is behaving with CA in the environment that only appears to affect some people.
oldschool 16 Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 That's probably the most difficult thing to address. Any idea how you can eliminate it so I can re-install the plugin?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Well you could ensure there is no coverart.xml in Emby-Server\plugins\configurations, then reinstall CA and see if you can reproduce the issue.
oldschool 16 Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 Hmmm, this is odd. I renamed the CoverArt.xml to CoverArt.xml.old, then I reinstalled the plugin, and it's causing the same problems as before with my TV Shows. It starts to load the images, and then the loading stops and the page causes Emby to be unresponsive to the browser until I restart Emby. Sometimes I can get it to respond if I close the tab and wait a certain amount of time before using the same browser. Cover Art isn't playing nice with my Emby install right now.
oldschool 16 Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 With the new dll, the TV Shows page is taking a long time to load, but it got further than before - it loaded more images on the page. Eventually it stopped, and now I had the same problem where it didn't load the whole page, and when I try to refresh the page, it just sits there and spins. Logs attached. server-63585350712.txt
ebr 16185 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Okay, thanks. Can we please track this over in the thread I linked to? For future tests of this - unless I specifically ask - you won't need to post a log. Just see if it makes a difference in load time.
