mbguy 40 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 What are some possible explanation (and solutions) if videos nodes don't appear in Kodi but the content has already been separated properly on Emby Server? I have tried deleting the local database and resync but the result are still the same. I only get "Movies" and "TV" nodes in Kodi but I have "Documentaries" and "Foreign Movies" Libraries setup on Emby Server. Help!
bluemonkey07 590 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 have you used kodi before? This is all that will show with the default skin, you need to use a skin that lets you create your own menu items to link to your emby library nodes
mbguy 40 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 I use the Confluence Skin that came with Kodi. I am aware that using other skins will allow me to create menu items to link to Emby Library nodes. What I am saying is, when I go to Add-ons > Emby, the FULL LIST of video nodes that I've already created on Emby Server don't even show up. Only "Movies" and "TV" showing available as nodes. I have confirmed that I have two more library folders called Documentaries and Foreign Movies on Emby Server, but how do I get them to show up on Kodi?
bluemonkey07 590 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 and they show up separately in the web client? 1
mbguy 40 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Good point, no the extra libraries don't show up on the Web Client either! Surprisingly the movies inside them still show up in the master list of movies. Something is wrong with my library folders setup?
bluemonkey07 590 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Yes in the web client select your user icon in the to right then go to your home screen settings and un select to group folders note in emby server library setup each folder should be set as a separate library - rather than one library with all you folders listed Edited December 7, 2015 by Vidman 2
mbguy 40 Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 Yes finally I had a chance to delete existing library and rebuild. Now the previously missing video nodes are correctly showing up on Kodi under Emby addon. But now there is a different problem. One of the new video nodes had no movies in it. Another new video node has listing of new movies but they are not playable. I can't even bring up the "menu/info" page of these dead movies. I am able to navigate to these nodes and play them without problems using Emby app on my phone and using different browsers on the web interface so I know these movies are accessible. Right now it's just Emby for Kodi that are having these problems Any thing else I can try?
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 How are you accessing said nodes? tell me the exact steps. Can you capture in logs, trying to playback the new movies and post that log? Make sure you have the add-on debug set to Info (not debug mode) thanks.

Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 If you go via the Kodi "Movies" entry do you see the entries, are they playable?
mbguy 40 Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 If I go to Kodi "movies" entry, yes everything inside my Movies server plays properly. But all the files inside the Documentary folder on Emby Server are not showing up on Kodi. It's weird the web interface and my Emby app on iPhone can access and play these documentary titles without problems. 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) If you enable the enhanced presentation in the webclient, and in Kodi, you reset and let your library scan your content in once more, do things behave appropriately then? Edited December 13, 2015 by Angelblue05 1
mbguy 40 Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 I will try your method tonight. By the way, earlier I checked my Roku and it is confirmed that all files in all folders play properly so this is definitely a Kodi/Emby on Kodi issue. I wonder what is causing this?
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) Well I'm trying to find the cause, but if you test and let me know at least I'll be closer to finding the reason. We are a bit different because we don't just display content. We have to insert them into the Kodi database in a specific way to make them display correctly. Edited December 13, 2015 by Angelblue05 1
mbguy 40 Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 Aright I checked and the enhanced presentation was already enabled before. I deleted database and did a full sync again and the results are the same Maybe I will have to change how my files are stored in documentaries folder, seems like an easier way out.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) Hmm, that's a very odd one. Do you get any messages in the log? Content being skipped messages? Maybe you could post the log from the resync. Edited December 13, 2015 by Angelblue05
