Home Videos with a year in title get cut off

Recommended Posts

I noticed today that things added under the "Home Videos" content setting, their title gets cut off if it sees any year in the title. Everything after the year just gets ignored. Like the below image, but also things like:

"The Hunt" from "the.hunt.2015.s01e01.720p.hdtv.x264-c4tv.mkv"

Looks like almost everything is parsed out of that title except episode title/number..   See the bottom of the screen webrip h264 ect.  It is all about what is in the metadata.

What app is that?

They are incorrect in his metadata manager as well. @@riffy If you can add a screenshot of that too.

Is there a title in the nfo files?

Any reason you have them in Home Videos?  Is it do to your naming convention?

I deleted the nfo files & let the server make them. Inside the nfo file it created tho is:

Looks like the way it is parsed Emby would have to ignore the first half of the name.

Yes. That folder is only pilots so I don't & can't rename them all in a structured way. I also have 2 other folders that are set this way too. Filled with files that Emby will never figure out what it is &/or it's a one time thing that will never have any info ever. Like nature, science & news shows some that only air once & are never added to sites like TVDB.

In other words.. I have them set to Home Videos so Emby WON'T look up any info.

The only way I see this working is a different structure/naming.

folder

Amazon Pilot Season - Fall 2015

  Danger & Eggs S01E01......

  Highston S01E01.....

or

Amazon Pilot Season - Fall 2015

  Danger & Eggs

    Danger & Eggs S01E01.....

  Highston

    Highston S01E01.....

Other than to remove the or a/an from the beginning & take out periods & dashes & stuff to make em look better. Why would they be parsed at all? I mean... they're set to content "Home Videos" so they wouldn't have their data looked up.

With some testing the year is stop point in the parsing.  If the year is removed you get everything.  So Home Videos may need an exception.

So... does that mean it's going to get changed some time soon?

I'm having this same problem.  I don't want the title cut off at the year and the library is set to Home Videos.  Is there anyway to turn this off?
