Collection Thumb and Primary Image Not Auto Generating

Hi so I've created collections in the past and it would auto-generate a primary image and thumb image but for some reason it no longer does this. Is this still something that happens or has this been removed?

 

P.S. My other collections still have the auto-generated images.

Collections as in movie sets? If so, what it does now is it just uses a single image from a title within the collection.

Is there anyway to change it back? I liked the way it was before... It also messes up the way my collections look.

First of all this only comes into play for collections that we can't find an image on the internet for. For example - if you create Star Wars Collection then we'll be able to find an image on TheMovieDb.

 

There is currently no setting. I did it for two reasons - we are under a lot of pressure from users to reduce cpu usage and creating these images has cpu impact. second, if you're looking at screen full of collections, and each collection image has 4 vertical stripes, how can you really tell what is what from a glance? it's poor usability because you're forced to read the titles under each image. In my opinion it should never have been added in the first place.

 

But you can always create a topic in the feature request area and we can see how many people agree with you.
