diaz1510 154 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I'd like to change my username associated with the email I use for emby connect. Not the display name but the actual username...Where can I do this at?
diaz1510 154 Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) When I log onto emby connect, this is the one I'm referring to, top left: I'd like it to match my emby server username if possible, same with my wifes account...it shows the username that was created to log into emby but once logged in,would it be possible to show the "Name" that was created for the account? Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) Emby Connect will display your forum Username that is linked to your local server account. Using Skip on login page allows local user login, but it will require knowing server information (WAN/DDNS) if not cached already. Next you will see you local logins. Select user and log in. diaz1510 154 Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 O ok...but this only works with local login? What about remote login?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 That was a Remote login via http://app.emby.media/.
diaz1510 154 Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 O ok, I see what your saying....basically adding my server manually but entering my WAN IP address. Yup, I can get in just fine your way and it does show my Server username, but its slightly different access as now, all user accounts are availabel to select from. That's not really what I'm looking for as I would like the names to show up for some family memebrs who login to their emby connect accounts to access my server remotely...without being able ot access anybody elses account that is connected to my server. I'd like it show my name "John" when I log into my emby connect account when I'm remote and to show my brothers name "Mike" or my wife's name "Athena" (which are the names I created within Emby Server), despite what they've selected as their Emby Connect username. Although I could see this would be an issue if, let's say, my brother had been given access to more than just my server through his Emby Connect account, and whoever created his account on their server may have given him a different name. But I guess, it could just show whatever name was associated with the server he's loggedf into at any given time... I hope I didn't confuse anybody lol... There just seems to be quite a few login setups to rememebr in regards to all things Emby....there's my Forum Login, my Emby Connect Login, my Local Access Logins, etc. And, for me at least, they are all different. I'd be interested in some way to reign in all these different emby accesses into one somehow...
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 So you would rather Emby Connect display the local account name they are linked to, on the server they are connecting to, instead of the forum name. There just seems to be quite a few login setups to rememebr in regards to all things Emby....there's my Forum Login, my Emby Connect Login, my Local Access Logins, etc. Why are you using a separate forum and Connect login? They are the same. So you have two forum accounts that can use both use Connect.
bluemonkey07 590 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Sounds like someone is over complicating the issue and then complaining that it's over complicated Edited December 5, 2015 by Vidman

LOL Yes you should be able to change your username doing this Click your present username top right, followed by the Account Settings menu and then you can change your Display Name.
