Hello, for some reason on my nexus player, all my movie extras and trailers are marked 'offline' even though they are not. The main features are listed fine but only the extras and trailers have this issue. When i try to play one anyway, it does start but i get no image, only sound and a black screen....

I tried rebooting nas, server box, nexus player... nothing changes

The files are not listed offline in any other app and play fine...

Any help would be appreciated !

Please do the following:

Turn on the "debug" option in the settings in the app.  Then go to one of the detail screens for an item that shows these as offline.  Then immediately go back to the home page of the app and send the log.

Then repeat but actually play one of the problem items for a second, then go back and send another log.

Finally, come back here and tell me the name of the Emby user that was logged in.

Thanks.

done... user MndWrp

When I enable the debug button in the settings then navigate to a problem, by the time i get back the "send logs" blue button is gone again.

I have to go in settings again and uncheck and recheck the button for it to be there again...

hope that worked still...

Thanks.  Unfortunately, that didn't really tell me anything.

I'm not sure any of the other apps show specials in a way that would ever indicate if we thought they were offline.

What other apps have you used to try and play them?

What format of video are they?

my extras and trailers are pretty standard mkv with h264 and aac audio ...nothing fancy...

i tried in the android app on my phone = works fine

i tried in the web app on my pc = works fine

i would have tried it in theater but i uninstalled it (waiting impatiently for the new one...)

if files are truly offline they have a red maker when i manage the server on my pc ...but not at this time... they are online!

so ... must be a androidTV app glitch then ?

possibly another clue .. if i disable vlc as the main player, the files do play fine even though they are marked offline in the app....

could vlc be the culprit ? ...i guess not 100% since the app does mark them as offline...

I think the two issues are completely unrelated.

The app may be erroneously marking them as offline but that shouldn't impact their playability (it is just an indicator).  I'll look into that.

The playback, however, appears to be a problem with VLC direct playing those items.

Luke - I can confirm that specials are returning a location type of Offline against both the Release and Dev server.

Ah-ha! the server! ...in the living room with the candlestick...

Hopefully Luke and company will fix it in the next server release.
