kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Since the latest Windows 10 update, I've noticed Emby server has not been creating new bif files. Forcing a re scan in scheduled tasks has no effect. Would appreciate any pointers.
kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Sorry for the delay ... out Christmas shopping .... Log attached. Log.zip
Luke 42078 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Looks like everything is fine and you just need to configure the plugin.
mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Luke correct me if I am wrong but it also looks like some of his files will not get a bif because the are MPG, MPEG or AVI. Also I saw at the being of the log that bitrate was a issue.
Luke 42078 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Correct. you only get bif files for content the roku will direct play, because roku will not use the bif when transcoding is used.
mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 @@kingstonian, I have so Rokue setting's for handbrake and a screen shot of the setting's for format factory if you want to use them to help convert and get more bif's. Let me know and I will post them.
kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Thanks for replying Luke, just checked my settings and started another scan but nothing, The scan for the Bif took 0 seconds...

mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Can you try something for me, I am just trying to help, restart the server so you have clean logs. Then go into one of the video files that you think should have a bif. Do a refresh wait a few minutes and post the log file.
kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 I do have a mixed bag of formats, but the one's i'm looking at are mp4.

mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Everything looks right. Are there bif files in the folder with the video files? The only other thing I could think of is the Roku app. Maybe the setting's on the roku. Go into the setting's in the Emby app, and look at what the Video Quality and see what that setting is.

kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Thanks for your help Mediacowboy, appreciate you helping to bounce idea's around....
mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 No but seeing the picture you upload it shows that the bif file is created. So the question then becomes how is the Roku's streaming the file, Direct or Transcoding? To check play one of the files in the above image, The coroner S01E01, and click the ok button and see what it says at the top. You could also delete the file The Coroner S01E01 - First Love x264 RB58.bif and then on the web interface go back to that same episode, click the button with the 3 dots and click refresh. Then go back to the folder and see if it gets recreated.
mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Thanks for your help Mediacowboy, appreciate you helping to bounce idea's around.... Your welcome. I know how frustrating it is not to have it working correctly. Especially if there is a WAF involved.

I may try deleting the Emby server, reboot and then reinstall, one can only try ....
mediacowboy 438 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Don't do a server refresh but a episode refresh.
kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Don't do a server refresh but a episode refresh. Refreshed in Metadata Manager, episode ... no joy ...
kingstonian 1 Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Can you post the log? Ok, log #3 Log 3.7z
