Dukey 0 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Hi All, I am encountering an issue when scanning my media library on Media Browser Server Version 3.0.5083.27698. At a set percentage, the task stalls, and this process maxes out one of my CPU cores and eats a lot of RAM.Stopping the Mediabrowser Task/Restarting the server does not stop this process, I've let this process run overnight, and it doesn't seem to terminate itself! I wasn't sure which logs were relevant to this, so I have been unable to work out if any specific files are to blame. I have recently reinstalled Windows (and thus my Media Browser Server), I wasn't experiencing this issue beforehand I have changed ownership of all my files, and given "Full Control" permissions to "Everyone" Any advice would be appreciated! Many Thanks.

Solution Dukey 0 Posted December 7, 2013 Author Solution Posted December 7, 2013 Sorted I found a corrupt episode of The Walking Dead, which apparently contains no video encoding information.I ran ffprobe manually on the file and CPU went to 13%, memory to 400mb and the application become unresponsive without throwing an error. I ran it through MediaArea.net/MediaInfo and got the following results, but I guess it's a problem with ffmpeg/ffprobe not handling dodgy files gracefully as opposed to MediaBrowser:----------GeneralComplete name : G:\The Walking Dead - 4x08 - Too Far Gone.mkvFormat : AC-3Format/Info : Audio Coding 3File size : 2.76 GiBDuration : 17h 9mnOverall bit rate mode : ConstantOverall bit rate : 384 KbpsAudioFormat : AC-3Format/Info : Audio Coding 3Mode extension : CM (complete main)Format settings, Endianness : BigDuration : 17h 9mnBit rate mode : ConstantBit rate : 384 KbpsChannel(s) : 6 channelsChannel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFESampling rate : 48.0 KHzBit depth : 16 bitsCompression mode : LossyStream size : 2.76 GiB (100%)----------Opening in VLC gave:No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this. ----------Great piece of software by the way, love using it!
