fantaxp7 191 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) Hello, I've recently moved to emby docker and have had issues with kodi playback. I usually get no response when hitting play, then sometimes an error mentioning to check log. Thanks kodi.log Edited November 24, 2015 by fantaxp7
fantaxp7 191 Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Post your Kodi log. Sorry I uploaded but didn't attach. Fixed that, now posted. thanks 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Kodi can't read your path as they are formatted: /mnt/user/media/movies/The 'Burbs (1989)/The 'Burbs.ISO In the emby dashboard > library > you'll need to add a path substitution
fantaxp7 191 Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Kodi can't read your path as they are formatted: /mnt/user/media/movies/The 'Burbs (1989)/The 'Burbs.ISO In the emby dashboard > library > you'll need to add a path substitution What interesting is I can use the kodi file browser and play the files on my file server fine. Does that not matter? Thanks
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Is Kodi located on the same device as your server? If not, then you need to ensure your path are formatted so they can be accessed from network. Do you use smb? nfs?
fantaxp7 191 Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Kodi is located on a different device. SMB works as I can access my files on my windows laptop. I believe NFS is enabled on unraid as well. Another thing is I can play files on my amazon firetv fine, but I suppose that is accessing a different way?
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) If you use smb, your paths need to look like: \\{computer}\{share}\ I'm not sure about nfs, you'd have to search the forums for examples. edit: Kodi needs your path to be formatted a certain way to be able to access them. Honestly, you'd find your answer just searching the forums, it's been brought up so many times. It's just because the paths currently are I think, local unix paths? They would only be valid if Kodi was installed on the same device as your server. Edited November 24, 2015 by Angelblue05 1
fantaxp7 191 Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 I understand now. It is working, thanks! Basically the way docker accesses the files on my unraid server is different that how I am able to access my files on other machines. Makes sense. 1
