strager 18 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Hi guys, I don't use the Emby Connect stuff (I really hate it and wish it would go away forever) and have a user on a Amazon Fire Stick who can't connect. He's being told to connect with some sort of pin using Emby Connect and sees no way to skip it. How can I have him connect using his local account like my other users can on other devices?
Luke 42077 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 There is a skip function. I don't have a screenshot handy but Ebr can elaborate if someone else doesn't beat me to it. Emby connect is a service designed to make this easier but it is purely optional and can always be skipped. Every Emby app has the ability to skip the Connect feature.
ebr 16169 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 There is a button right next to the "Next" button that says "Enter Server Address". Press that, enter the address of the server and he will get the user list.
strager 18 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 He tried this (both with and without the port number which is at default 8096) and it tells him it can't find the server. He's able to access the server at the same address in his browser. What format does it need to be entered in?
ebr 16169 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Straight IP address should work (e.g xxx.xxx.xx.xxx). I just did this yesterday in the app so I'm pretty sure it is working.
