Redshirt 1487 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I just did a completely fresh server install with no metadata from my previous install. Installed the current release version (3.0.5781.1) and during the initial scan server identified "M*A*S*H" as the spin-off "After M*A*S*H". Using the built-in metadata editor I identified the show correctly and refreshed. The show info has been corrected as has the season info, but the episode info is not changing to the correct show. I've tried deleting the episode info in the editor and saving with just the episode name and correct TVDBID for the episode. When I refresh, the info is just overwritten with the incorrect info. I've attached a server log showing what happens when I refresh an episode from the editor. Let me know if you need more. Thanks. server-63583228800.txt
Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Did you manually refresh again after the identification, or do you mean to say that you waited for the refresh that the identification process kicks off? it shouldn't matter but just trying to gather info. thanks.
Redshirt 1487 Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Manually refreshed from the both the metadata manager and the hamburger menu in the web client episode details page. Just in case the refresh was recursive I also tried refreshing from the series and season levels of the metadata manager. Do you have the show in your own collection? If you want I can probably whip up a 0-byte zip of the show.
Redshirt 1487 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 I'm not sure if this is related to the above issue but I'll mention it anyway. A few weeks ago I went through my climbing videos and using the metadata editor added the people that were in them as cast members. OCD and all that. Some time since, it seems a library scan has completely overwritten the .nfo's and removed the cast entries I've added. The videos were in a folder where the collection type was Home Movies. I don't have a log because I don't have a clue when the overwrite happened.
Luke 42080 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I tested this and it does work if you identify twice. The reason it doesn't work on the first try, at least not fully, is that Omdb populates the first search result, which gives us the imdb id. Then the refresh occurs and it goes omdb -> tvdb. since tvdb just only recently added a lookup by imdb id, we are not yet using so the search happens all over again and returns the wrong result again. Then, tmdb comes in third and we get the correct tmdb id based on the imdb id. Then it works the second time through due to the presence of the tmdb id, which gets us the tvdb id. So if i can update tvdb to utilize the lookup by imdb id, then that should fix all of this.
Luke 42080 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Yup that fixed it. With the series folder named Mash and not M*A*S*H, it's still expected behavior that the initial search would produce the wrong result. But now the identify function will fix it on the first try.
Redshirt 1487 Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 That's good news. I'll keep an eye out for it in upcoming release builds. Thanks.
ebr 16185 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I just ran into this problem on the current release (.4) and absolutely nothing I do will re-identify the episodes properly. The season also is not able to find an image (probably because it is still tied to the wrong series). The Series was re-identified properly the first time but the episodes are still stuck at the old series. I've tried removing the tvdb ID from the episode, saving and then refreshing but it just comes back as the wrong series again even though its parent is currently correct. Is this because we are now saving parent IDs in the database and that isn't getting updated properly for children on a re-identify?
Luke 42080 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 The series level data is what's important. there isn't actually an identify function for episodes since that comes from a combination of series identification + episode numbering. It's most likely due to some old data stuck in the series.
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 I resolved this yesterday. I had to change the SSD on my server which meant another new emby install, ugh... I renamed the MASH directory to MASH (1972). When emby rebuilt the library it wasn't able to identify the series as anything. Manually identifying the series allowed the episodes to be correctly identified. So it seems the issue only occurs if the episodes get mis-identified in the first place. Unidentified things change no problem.
Luke 42080 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Hmm, in my tests it was able to reidentify episodes, including both metadata and image.
