JohnnyM 40 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Recently the Offline treatment of the folder.jpg changed. The Treatment of my cover for Offline no longer shows Off-Line on the Gray Thick Case in Emby for WMC As you can see from the attachment, the external Disc overlays on the thick case correctly. I do not know when this actually started but it was recently. The Web Client shows the same image but no overlay.
JohnnyM 40 Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Yes It is a movie that I have on disc only and it is in the library as MovieName.DISC with an tag of O/L. The drive is online and available otherwise. This treatment has been work like I want for at least a year. Edited November 15, 2015 by JohnnyM
ebr 16169 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I don't believe ca has ever automatically applied the offline treatment to .disc items although that is a good idea. You must have had it setup to apply that cover specifically
JohnnyM 40 Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Attached are the instructions from "Abobader" on how to do it. It applies to those items marked OffLine which are also place held with .disc files. The problem is that the words offline are not showing on the cover treatment like they were. ebr 16169 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Okay, that's how he has it setup but how do you have it setup?
JohnnyM 40 Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) I have it set up just like his and it has been working fine since March 2014 with out changes. Attached is a image of one of my collections. It has movies of all types. The Offline movie is selected (High Plains Drifter). as you can see the case is the same type as an offline case. The only thing missing is the Off-Line text on the top of the case.which was there two weeks ago. When I look at the treatment in Coverart's configuration page. It is supposed to be still there but it's not. When I go to the detail page for this move there is an overlay indicating that it is a external disc. So the system knows it is offline but the text Off-line is not on the case. Edited November 16, 2015 by JohnnyM
ebr 16169 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Well, you can't have it setup just like he does as your folder locations would be different. Please post a screen shot of those same screens in Abo's setup on your setup and one of the folder contents of these items showing the full path in Explorer. Thx.
JohnnyM 40 Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 All I am saying is that it has worked for 1 1/2 years and some time in the last 2 weeks it stop working and I haven't touch Cover art config in 6 months. I assume that the treatment works off of the "display as" tag so I am including a screen print of my metadata for this movie.
ebr 16169 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Did anything in the way the library is setup change? Is that media location defined exactly as "\\work\ihd movies\offlinemovies"? You didn't give me the screen shot of the actual folder contents in explorer. That particular value in "Treat Image As" should be getting ignored but I would remove it.
JohnnyM 40 Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Nothing in the library set up changed! Your statement "That particular value in "Treat Image As" should be getting ignored but I would remove it." doesn't make sense to me. How does Coverart know that a movie is Offline unless you tell? That is the only place I can see that it would know since your said "I don't believe ca has ever automatically applied the offline treatment to .disc items although that is a good idea."
ebr 16169 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 You are telling it to use that treatment for all items under that particular parent folder. That's why I wanted to see the actual folder contents and path to it. The "Treat Image As" field can be filled in with things like "DVD" or "Blu-Ray". It won't recognize "O/L" and should just ignore it but it is possible that that value somehow overrides the forced treatment you had setup which is why I suggested you remove it.
JohnnyM 40 Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I owe you a big one. I had moved the offline directory to another drive about a month ago and everything appeared fine. One of the updates in the last two weeks must have caused a total refresh of the images and that is when I lost the Offline text Indicator. I wrote a new profile for that directory and surprise surprise the Offline text reappeared. I can live with the few offline movies that I have put into collections in other libraries that do not show the text but blank is okay for those. As a followup for "Treat Image As", the tag can be MKV, DVD, AVI etc. the choice of "OffLine" is not used. I know I was using "O/L" and tried "Offline" but nothing changed. It still doesn't use the Offline treatment. Is that correct? Thanks for your patience JohnnyM
ebr 16169 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Correct, it doesn't understand offline. This particular treatment was created just as a special request for a special user and hasn't really been advertised. Most don't even know it exists. The reason it hasn't been advertised (or expanded) to this point is that the terminology conflicts with the same term used for something else in the system. "Off-Line" is used to indicate real, digital media that happens to be inaccessible at this moment (or at the time of the last scan). We use the term "External Disc" for items like this.
