DuffMan 0 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Hi, Firstly congratulations on getting the app released, it took a long long time, but I can see why, it looks really nice, works really well, and is 100 times better than the old iOS app. Well done. I already have the Emby Premium, but will throw in another donation just to show gratitude for the app, and hard work you guys put in. I read the mobile sync was pulled, that is a pity, but i think a good idea to get the app released, hoping for it in a future version, if possible. the app detected my server (i do not use emby connect), and it plays everything i have thrown at it so far. It also casts fine to my chromecasts, and even casts fine to my Samsung Tizen TV, which means i do not really need the samsung tv app anymore. I have one question regarding the download feature. I didn't find much documented about it, but i am assuming you download titles for offline play? Is this currently meant to work? My iPad currently just crash to the Welcome to Emby screen when i ask it to download a title. I also tried signing in with Emby Connect, in case this was required, but still no go. Have anyone got this working so far? Thanks heaps Duff Man.

If you want to do this, the best thing to do is just to use the website to purchase one of the options a second time. Even the monthly is fine and then you can cancel the recurring part afterwards. I assume to prevent the second Montly purchase from conflicting with the active Lifetime subscription would be to not apply that key to the server and just leave the previously purchased (active) key on the server, correct?

I bought the "Lifetime membership" a while ago and don't regret any dime from it I'm also having troubles with the download feature. When I use it, the server logs it "XXX is currently downloading YYY", but the iOS app doesn't seem to do anything. When I later try to play the video on the iOS device, it tries to stream it from the server, si I guess it wasn't downloaded at all. Or perhaps it's just me who can't find how this is done ? Thanks in advance !

I don't care about watched status at this point. Even trying to launch the app, offline, doesn't seem to work. I want to be able to download some shows on iPad while on the wireless at home, and then take it in the car, and play those video's offline. I was hoping this is what the download would do. Currently even launching the app, while offline doesn't seem to work, so I am not sure if this is how it will end up working or not. I am sure the guys are getting inundated with messages about things relating to the new app, so will just wait for them to get a chance to look at this down the track.

It kind of works in the browser but not great because there is no resume or any indication that the video is downloading. i would recommend using another method to download the videos like VLC or Infuse.
