Emby Connect, Forums and Accounts

Before doing anything wrong I would like to clear this.

 

Is the forum user account the same as the Emby Connect? I have signed up for a forum account but have not purchased anything yet.

 

To make sure, to buy a lifetime subscription, you need an Emby Connect, right? And is it tied to the forums too?

 

Can I use my forum account to pay for the Emby Premiere? The little doubt I have is because although I'm signed in to my Forum account

and see an Emby Connect blue button, when I click on it, it asks for my user name and password again.

Hi,  and welcome. Yes the forum account is the same as Emby Connect. You do not need Emby Connect in order to purchase Premiere. You can do it with just an email address if you like:

Thanks for the information. If you do not need Emby Connect for Emby Premiere, how the server knows I have paid? Do you deliver a separate activation number?

 

So, is Emby Connect only useful for connection from outside of your house?

You will be sent a Premiere key by email. You would enter this in to the server Dashboard under Help -> Emby Premiere.

 

I do not use Emby Connect so cannot comment on its usefulness.

Yes, Emby Connect makes connecting remotely much simpler.  When you are on your local lan, you can just use the local server discovery available in most of the apps.
