Emby Server crashing upon startup

I just ran the installer to get the latest update (in both beta and stable, its the same version, 3.0.5781.1) and after installing, the server crashes upon start, giving me the error

 

"Unhandled exception: Value cannot be null

 Parameter name: itemId"

this would happen if at some point recently you ran the dev server. there are enough differences that you cannot bounce back and forth right now. you either need to install dev on top of your install, or reinstall stable from scratch.

I just uninstalled and rebooted, but only checked the clear cache option during uninstall.

 

Reinstalling seems to have brought it back as you say, thanks.

Luke - I want to switch from dev to beta for a while, without having to re-install from scratch and therefore losing all watched status etc., so can you state when that will be possible please.

 

I imagine when the next Beta is released?
