What dictates when dynamic folder images are used?

So on my server (3.0.5781.1), I have music, television, and movies.  However, only music is showing the dynamic library image (see attachment) on the home screen.  When I click to manage my server and click on the library, Television also is showing a dynamic library image (image attached), but as the first image shows, it's not being shown on the home screen.  How would I get these to properly display across the board?   What dictates when they are and are not used?  Is there a setting somewhere I missed where I can enable them?

3 of the first 4 have images assigned. they might have come from when we used to provide default images. try clearing those out.

Well, I'm a little closer.  Doing a mass refresh of the media folders via the metadata manager caused the images to populate inside of server manager.  The home page still shows those generic box things.  When I click edit on one of those icons via the home page directly, it shows that generic image for the primary.  I deleted the primary image and tried restarting the server, when going back to the home page, the generic movie icon is still there.  On clicking edit image, the primary image is still completely missing from when I removed it earlier.... I just went back to the library via the server manager and now the television which had prior shown a dynamic image is now showing the generic movie icon again; movies still looks good from my prior mass refresh of metadata.

 

Will pulling logs capture all this stuff around the image icons?  I'll enable debugging, restart the server and grab the logs if you think it will help. I guess I just need to know what steps I should specifically be doing after the restart that would best describe whatever I am dealing with in the logs.

You may just need to give the server some time to create new dynamic images

I just noticed on my Shield that the Live TV icon is a dynamic image but the web client version is not. What dictates the creation of the dynamic images? Also, how are those images pulled via the various clients since it looks like that is being handled differently based on what I am seeing when comparing the web client versus an android tv device. I guess if I had a better understanding what's happening behind the scenes, I could possibly troubleshoot this better and provide better information.

Deleting the images from the home menu allowed for the dynamic images to pop up for Movies and Television.  Do Live TV, Guide, or Recorded TV have any similar images if I delete the stale image, or is Moves, Television, and Music the best I'm going to get for now?
