das7002 0 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I recently updated my emby-server to 3.0.5781.0 because it was available in apt, and after doing so *everything* was force transcoded even if I knew for a fact it direct played before. So after some investigating I found out that the server seems to have forgotten all media info about everything it was tracking, now the only thing it lists is the container and path, nothing else. So I'm assuming that is why everything is being forced to transcode as the server doesn't know what anything is. Even rescanning the library I can't seem to get it to figure out what the media info is, I have a feeling that the only way to get it to figure it out again would be completely recreating the media libraries, which I'd prefer to not have to do.
Luke 42077 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Can you provide a bit more info? Please see http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.

das7002 0 Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Ok, it took me a little bit, but I figured out how to get the media info to come back. If I go into the metadata manager and force a refresh of all data on the library itself it seems to figure it out, it does take a while for it to do that though, but does seem to fix it. Would it be possible to add that as a scheduled task that runs weekly perhaps? Media info rescan would be quite useful to have.
