HEVC codec vids fail to play

I have had several videos encoded with HVEC that fail to play with the APP. but do play in web client.

 

both Season 11 Episode 1 and 2 of Canada's Worst driver are prime examples of files that fail to play.

do you know how it's trying to handle them? e.g. transcode, direct, etc?

Another week's episode.  Another failed play in Windows App.

 

Should be trying to play direct. its on the local network. but it does not start, to read the banner at the top.

but.... really.  should be direct.

you get the " The Video failed to play "  > "Retry" page immediately. 

 

can't find anything in the sever log that looks helpful.

Searched for the word  "Canada"  ( for Canada's Worst Driver ) with no results, except when it was added to the library. 

 

Does the windows app use the server log?

 

Web client plays no problem.... but that... does it play direct?  no right?  I have it set to the highest available setting (10mb 720p)

Is there windows app at default playback settings? I would first ensure that it is and then try again

I'll have a look at this in a few days. The project I'm currently working on is VERY soon finished and I'll be back doing more Emby related stuff.

@@trusselo, are you running Win10 or 8.1 as a OS?
