Change whats default showing and the order of it

Is it possible to change the order of how content is presented default?

for example, If i klick on my movie "folder" it´s always showing recommended instead off movies. And i really like to have it default to show latest added movie instead of sort by name

i know i can change the sorting order it but it doesn't seem to stick after a reboot. 

is it a setting i change this stuff easy or do i have to do it in script by hand? 

if it does not exist a easy way that would really be a good thing to ad so every server owner could set a default layout in folders for every user.

Same thing with the startpage, why not have the choice of using the main image instead of backdrops? som off my younger users have problem recognise the movies by the image when it´s a backdrop instead off the main image showing, (they are too small to read the text)  But even for older users it's a irritating when you see backdrops instead off the main image on the main page so you have to read the text to know what movie it is.  One last thing, How do i change the number off objekt shown per side?  and is it a way to use "show all" in the different "folders" so just can scroll down instead of have to change page?
