FR - Server - Sync Users, Device Names and Shared Devices

Good Afternoon All,

I have a double header of a request/improvement today.

I don't entirely know how devices are handled so I will leave it to @@Luke or @@ebr to indicate the initial technical feasibility. However it would be nice if a device with a stored user account is "owned" by that user and if the admin could change the user via a drop-down of the available users.

The reason that I am interested in this feature is that I would like to limit which devices my users can sync content on. Eg a few times a user has synced content onto another user's phone by mistake. If the user could only see device that were "owned" by them that would be ideal, additionally it would be good so that folders that I keep on the server of pre-transcoded content or cloud-synced content were not sync able by by user base (however that they could still stream from there should their quality settings permit).

It would also be good if the devices (especially browsers) were named to include the username that logged in or had a configurable syntax (eg. "{User} - {Browser} V{BrowserVersion}") seeing as right now when a bunch of users are all logged in I see an array of browsers.

For shared devices it would be a positive function if the "owner" could be set to "shared" (not a real account) so that I can specify particular devices as shared, this would extend beyond the current implementation where DLNA devices are considered shared as I could specify my Kodi / Theater clients that aren't connected over DLNA to be shared devices.

Lastly it would be ideal if an option existed (or it became default behaviour) to allow users with access to shared devices to always be able to control them without needing the "Control other users" option enabled. Right now if I was watching something and I leave with 5 mins left my Girlfriend must wait until the device becomes free until she can change the content or ask me to stop playing it. The other option which has "control other users" enabled means that she is then flooded with the browsers/phones/tablets/etc of my other users which is also inconvenient.

I think that these features would improve the general usability of clients and help with setting appropriate access.

Thanks and have a Happy Halloween,
