People tab disappeared

Hi,

 

Just upgraded to the latest release and liking some of the small interface changes.

 

However, the "People" tab has disappeared from all the various sections.

 

I noticed this post from "Happy2Play" answering someone else who had mentioned it.

 

It has been removed for the time being.

But there's no explanation as to why it's gone or if/when it's coming back.

 

My missus is most displeased as she spent some considerable time going through all the people, adding correct images for everyone and sorting everything out on it. Please save my ear bashing and tell me it's coming back soon...

That particular view of them is gone but People are still there and will still appear in all of their proper items and you can search for them as well.

 

So your missus' work has not been in vain .

Thanks for that much at least @@ebr although as the job was still incomplete is there an easy way to get to all the "people" to edit the images rather than having to go through each program/film and find them individually?

for the time being although it has a good chance of returning as a global people section. for many people it's just been too slow so it had to be removed until it can be improved

Thanks @@Happy2Play I'd missed that post by @@Luke. Here's hoping it does come back and soon, I never had any issues with it at all speed wise (and our library is pretty large) and infact we used it on occasion (hence spending so much time manually updating everything on it).

While it's true that the People tab is gone in the web client (and Emby Theater client), there is a limited version in the Android TV version.  I say limited because it only appears to include the first 100 or so people for each letter of the alphabet.  Hopefully that limited will be removed as well.

I have desinstalled and do a fresh install because this tab disappear and I don't find why :s

 

I hope the people tab will come back I need it please and I choose Emby (with life Premiere) and not Plex for this option.

 

When have you plan to add this feature please ?

Hello Everybody,

 

Like you I hope that this tab will reappear on the futur.
It was a good solution for update photo and content.

 

As Ian-Highlander say, It could be a great to have a "collaborate work" for find the people image and content. I'm pretty sure that we are lot of, of us, who spend time to update people content. And I would like to share my work and also can use the time of work sharing by Ian-Highlander or other emby'users !
