speed upp emby?

Hi

 

Im wondering if its possible to speed up emby server?

for example, when my users browse the library it can take a long time before

the images appear.  Is it any way to give emby more ram or what does the delay depend on?

 

The server have the following spec: Amd Optron 6386se, 16 gig ram (normally its 32 or 64gig but im testing some things) , and about 4 Tb of music and movies. using 5 drives in raid5 + the os and software is running on a ssd,  network is 5x1gig in loadbalance 

 

Its running on ubuntu 14.04 x64. 

 

Its normally no problem being a couple of people playing movies and music, the "problem" is browsing the media and the time it takes for media to appear 

 

The memory usage is only 15-20% if 6 different movie streams are running and the cpu use about 8-10 cores at 40-80%  off the 16 core available 

so what is making the browsing part so slow?

it is probably just image scaling. as the apps build up their image caches the problem should largely go away.
