Revenent 15 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I have TV episode files that span two seasons. I tried naming the episode so that it has the two episode numbers, but Emby doesn't seem to recognize the second episode's season number, only the episode number. e.g. Show - 01x26-02x01 - Episode name.mkv --> Emby shows it as Episode 26-1, and it doesn't show the second episode's name. Is there a naming method that will have it recognize the episodes and show the proper metadata? Thanks!
AdrianW 1058 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Well, I've never seen that situation before. It's such an edge-case that I doubt whether anything would support it. I think the best solution would be to split the .mkv into two separate episodes. Here's one method.
Revenent 15 Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Unfortunately, the episode does not lend itself to splitting. This is the Star Trek TNG special BD, specifically, the BD for "The Best of Both Worlds", which spans season 3 and 4. Can I submit this as a suggestion? It shouldn't really be that hard, since we have both the season and episode numbers for both.
Luke 42085 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 We don't currently but may do it in the future as i know it sometimes happens.
sambarlick 14 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Is this possible yet? I also have these Blurays and there are 2 of these 2 part cross season episodes that CBS combined and it would be great to have them in regular season folders instead of in specials.
