MikeyMan 8 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hi all, Since a couple of weeks i've been running into issues with Emby Metadata. It's all very inconsistent. I noticed first that while most tv-episodes (which are fetched) are displayed as "1 - episode name", others are named "1- s05e01 - Episode name" Didn't think too much of it, thought it was just a quirk. However, looking into it further, it seems that for those episodes no Metadata is grabbed whatsoever. An example is "Last Man Standing (2011)", season 5. Episode 1, 3 and 5 look okay. Episodes 2 and 4 don't show anything and are named wrong. When i look at thetvdb, there is info available on the episode. What is going wrong here? It's so inconsistent throughout series and episodes that i don't quite know how to approach solving it.
MikeyMan 8 Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) When i refresh, it creates a new XML. However, that is only 1kb in size. It seems to find the right episode, but then only downloads a part... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?><Item> <EpisodeName>S05E04 - Educating Boyd</EpisodeName> <EpisodeNumber>4</EpisodeNumber> <SeasonNumber>5</SeasonNumber> <Added>17-10-2015 19:43:12</Added> <LockData>true</LockData> <RunningTime>21</RunningTime></Item> Edited October 25, 2015 by MikeyMan
Luke 42083 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 do you have a parent folder such as the series locked? <LockData>true</LockData>
MikeyMan 8 Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 Lockdata is set to true in the series.xml Could this be the issue? I don't remember setting this manually.
MikeyMan 8 Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 I'm trying to understand: How did this get set? Why do some series/episodes work without issues? They all seem to be locked somehow.
Luke 42083 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 You must have locked something in the metadata manager because you decided you didn't want it changed. It is off by default and has to be explicitly enabled. Or maybe some metadata was imported with LockData set to true by other metadata software.
MikeyMan 8 Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) That indeed seemed to be the issue. However; solving it is not so easy, it seems. On the top level, my "series" folder is locked. When i uncheck the box, it says "item saved", but when i refresh the box is checked again. It also shows a hanging-lock logo for every subfolder, even the ones not being locked. edit: seemed to be due to Edge browser. Chrome works better it seems. Edited October 25, 2015 by MikeyMan 1
MikeyMan 8 Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Just wanted to confirm; unlocking did the trick 1
MikeyMan 8 Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) still seems to be some issue. Some of the new episodes -although unlocked- won't get any metadata until i manually refresh. What could be the issue here? Edited November 7, 2015 by MikeyMan
MikeyMan 8 Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Anybody got any ideas what i can check further?
Luke 42083 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I'm not able to reproduce this, sorry, but will keep trying. I think there's some oddity occurring using some combination of locking settings that we hadn't foreseen.
MikeyMan 8 Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 Hmm... That's too bad. Made the effort to check each folder for hidden settings, but that's not the case. Anything else i can do?
