Config/Plugin adjustable regular expressions

So maybe I simply was unable to find it but as far as I can tell there is currently no way for configuration options or plugins to adjust the regular expressions used by the file parsers.

 

Kodi allows the adding of additional regular expressions via a configuration file which is a great idea since not everyone would like to conform to a standard naming format.

 

The question is whether there would be a general interest for such a feature to be implemented or whether this goes against some design philosophy that I am currently unaware of.
