Possible Bug - Show with "Sample" in name

I've googled and poked about and been unable to see where this has been mentioned before. I've encountered a bug that seems to be related to a TV Show with the word "sample" in the title.

What happened:

  • I created a folder to hold two episodes of a new (and I now realize, bad) anime called "Shomin Sample."
  • Standard formatting was used: Anime\Shomin Sample\Season 1\Shomin Sample S01E01.mkv. The folder "Anime" is categorized as TV, and everything inherits.
  • The show metadata was automatically located based on TheTVDB.com ID, however the season folder reported being empty despite two episodes within. Metadata manager couldn't "expand" Season to display the individual shows underneath it.

Troubleshooting:

  • I placed a new TV show with the same format: Anime\Lance N' Masques\Season 1\Lance N' Masques S01E01.mkv in order to determine if all new shows added were experiencing this issue due to an update or similar change. Lance N' Masques parsed properly and displayed two episodes in the folder.
  • I removed the word sample from the filename, wondering if it was confusing the system. Sample was left intact at the folder level. This solved the problem. The new path reads like this: Anime\Shomin Sample\Season 1\Shomin S01E01.mkv

I'm happy to post logs/screenshots/whatever to assist on this. The system is running 3.0.5724.5 on FreeNas plugin. As it stands, I have a workaround in place, but the issue could impact others.
