Hockeystreams constant disconnections

Hi Hamstercat, 

 

Hockey season has started up again and I finally fired up my hockeystreams, there seems to be an issue where I'm getting constant disconnects. I can only watch about 3-4 minutes at any given time before I'm booted back out of the stream to the main menu. Looking at the logs I'm getting some kind of service exception during the view constantly that's kicking me out. Do you know what's going on here??

 

I've attached the logs for the problem below. Using 3.0.5724.6.

Anyone have any idea on this? My connections are still dropping out when trying to play back.

Your system is very busy during this time so maybe that's related. Try again when the next release is out, there will be less schedules direct image downloading in the background.

Version 3.0.5781.0 is worse than before. Previously I could get about 2-3 minutes of play time out before it cut out, now it's down to a minute or two before I start getting errors and video cutout.

 

It seems the server side is sending a 304 and the stream immediately quits after

try going into the web client settings and specifying a max streaming bitrate. we added a new auto-detection feature that measures available bandwidth. then it compares the result to the bitrate of the content. since we don't know the bitrate of channel content ahead of time, it just took the bitrate from the measurement and fed that into ffmpeg, which turned out to be an extremely high value. Even still you got good encoding performance, but i imagine the client video player didn't like it. So try setting your own max bitrate. The previous default was 1.5mbps so you might start there.

Changing the settings didn't fix the issue. Tried 2.0 mbps and 1.5. Still cuts out after a minute or so.

Still a problem on 3.0.5781.1. Logs seem to be setting the -maxrate in ffmpeg to 548Mbps on a 2meg setting? I also thought that the playback limit was only for out of network clients? Or am I misunderstanding the help?
