revengineer 142 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I am trying to figure out how to minimize the download frenzy obtaining data from schedules direct. My guide refresh task runs every morning at 6am. This morning the task lasted ~2 hours getting data for ~400 channels. However, even though the task is long finished, the log file shows that the server has been downloading tons and tons of files the whole day long. Representative log entries are shown below. Which scheduled tasks is associated with these downloads? Is there a way to minimize them? 2015-10-11 17:56:24.7781 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p9284701_l_h5_aa.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:24.9265 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p9284701_l_h5_aa.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:25.3235 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p159759_d_v6_aa.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:25.4960 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p9649440_p_v6_ac.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:25.6372 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p180168_i_v6_aa.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:25.7924 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p159377_i_v6_aa.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:26.0501 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p159759_d_v6_aa.jpg2015-10-11 17:56:26.2192 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p180166_i_h5_aa.jpg20
revengineer 142 Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 My guide update seems to cause a download frenzy from schedulesdirect. The guide update task run every day at 6am. This morning it ran for ~2 hours. What I do not understand is why for the whole day tons and tons of images were downloaded from schedulesdirect. Representative log entries are shown below. I have two questions: 1. Which task is associated with these downloads? 2. Is there a way to minimize these downloads? 2015-10-11 10:04:22.8048 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p11081865_b_v6_aa.jpg2015-10-11 10:04:22.9477 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p8859125_st_h13_aa.jpg2015-10-11 10:04:23.2406 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p8859125_st_h13_aa.jpg2015-10-11 10:04:23.4049 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p724333_st_h13_aa.jpg2015-10-11 10:04:23.6291 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirect/assets/p10251576_b_h13_aa.jpg

revengineer 142 Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 That would be great. I don't really need to see the picture of every TV preacher on TBN.
revengineer 142 Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 And weird, I posted a second time because the first post seemed MIA. I now see they are both shown above.
revengineer 142 Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 we will have to add a setting to skip image downloading In addition to skip download, an option to download on demand may work well. The images are small and fast to download as needed.
