LiveTV guide error. SD issue?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am not getting any guide data. Not sure when this started, but it was working several days ago and beyond.

Emby knows there are channels to watch, and I can watch them real-time, but since guide data is not present, I cannot seem to record.

Attached is the emby log and json data from the tuner.

Try re-starting your server and then manually running the refresh guide task.

Tried just restarting the MB service, no change. Restarted the actual server box and now the guide still doesn't update, and now the Emby logs show a lot less info when I try to refresh the guide. And now the LiveTV doesn't show any channels at all (before I could at least see a list of channels, just not what is playing).

Here is the recent log. The json looks the same at the earlier attachment, so I didn't include it again.

there's something going on with your SD account. It is returning 400 errors. Unfortunatley Emby Server does not currently present you with the information of what exactly is wrong, but we will do that in a future release. In the meantime, the issue may clear itself up within 24 hours as one other person mentioned. you can also send a PM to rkulagow and he can look at your account to find the problem.

OK thanks for taking a look. I'll go to bed and dig a little more tomorrow afternoon and see what's going on then.

Kulago at SD looked into things and he says I am not even connecting to the SD server. I tried restarting Emby (running as a service), the server itself, shutting firewall off, etc. I just tried refreshing the guide data and this is what the log shows:

Does that lineup.json file contain anything?

Have you scanned for channels on the actual HD homerun?

Please post the complete log file. thanks.

The lineup json looks just like the one I attached in my opening post. And yes, I can use the HDHomeRun View application to watch various channels fine.

I even tried completely removing my SD account from Emby and re-adding everything. Still nothing.

It only goes as far back as around 4:30PM (5:15PM now) because I tried rebooting again.

This is really perplexing to me. Just last week, I remember watching TV and it's been recording scheduled stuff just fine. Then, my wife texts me from work asking to record something and I find it's broken all of a sudden. I've been really trying to sell her on this whole setup, and now she wants me to give up and get a Tivo (not going to happen!) So I really appreciate the effort everyone's been giving.

By the way, Kulago at SD turned on debugging on his end and he said it doesn't even look like I'm getting to the SD server.

ok so hdhr is returning data. if you don't mind upgrading to the server dev build that would be helpful because it has more logging. first thing you'll need to do is run the refresh guide scheduled task. of course it comes with all the usual disclaimers about dev builds. but if it's not fixed there it will have more info for us to hunt it down.

OK, I set Emby to allow updating to Dev builds, but when I go to download all I see are options for Stable Release and Latest Beta. Where is the dev build download?

Posted

if you did that then it will just download on it's own. if you want to speed it up you can restart the sever and open the server dashboard

I'm running Emby as a service so I do it manually.

In the Advanced page, I set updates to dev. I restarted the MediaBrowser service, refreshed the page, and did see a notification saying there was a new version available. So I click on the "Please shutdown the server and update manually" link, it takes me to the Emby website, and when I click on the server download, I don't see a dev option. Am I doing something wrong?

OK, I stopped the service and ran the Emby server as an app instead (icon in tray). Emby updated and restarted fine. Then I closed the app from the tray and started the service and got dev build up (v3.0.5751.25810).

Attached is the debug log from the dev build.

ok. there's not even any schedules direct activity in the log so it appears you don't even have that setup right now. double check that first.

See the attached screenshots showing both the tuner and SD account all set up. Like I said, it was working a few days ago and suddenly stopped working. The only changes on the server was maybe a windows update, but that's it (Win7).

The thing is, I did that setup as described when I installed this thing a while back and I do get data from the lineup.json url. And I haven't updated the HDHomeRun software since it was installed about a month or so ago.

So, I completely removed the tuner and my SD account in the dashboard, restarted the Emby service, and re-entered everything exactly as it was before. Running the LiveTV scheduled task took about the same amount of time, and now I see the list of channels, but not what is playing, as shown in this screenshot. Not quite right, but better than absolutely nothing, so some progress is being made. :)

EDIT: Since I've tried refreshing the guide so many times during this process, I wonder if my SD account has been flagged as being abused?
