wraslor 70 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Here's a couple shots of mine, we built the first half of the year and are getting things close to completion now! 5
BigGoose62 71 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Best part is the JP poster. Now you just need to get the original '93 release and TLW from '97 Haha, but seriously, great setup. A room like that is close to the top of my dream house wish list
simono5 21 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Looks great, can't believe you don't have MBC/T projecting on the screen
wraslor 70 Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Looks great, can't believe you don't have MBC/T projecting on the screen That's because I use xbmc JK MB all the way. It was a lot of fun, I snuck in on the weekends and ran cable all through that house while it was under construction (we weren't "legally" allowed to be in there before completion lol). Funny thing is the builders use a contract company to run cables and they charge like 150 bucks per run! So I originally paid for just a few of the long ones to be done and once I found the builder was cool I wired the whole house myself. Then the day of the inspection we fail! However every cable I ran passed it was cables their "professionals" ran that had to be reran! Moral of the story if you want something done right.....
ebr 16169 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Okay, I'll go ahead and put this up here even though I don't own this house anymore. Built this whole room myself from the sheetrock out. And, after missing this room which was meticulously constructed for superior sound, I was able to shoe-horn a small solution into a landing area at the top of the stairs in my current house. So this is what we have now. A far cry from the former room, but it'll do . (crappy phone picture) 6
wraslor 70 Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Ebr, Is that a 2.35 screen? What projector are you using and how do you handle the image size adjustments?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Hmmm... Maybe one day. Right paying for college educations for my son and daughter. More important in the long run. Each of the setups look nice though. Edited January 13, 2014 by Wayne Luke
ebr 16169 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Ebr, Is that a 2.35 screen? What projector are you using and how do you handle the image size adjustments? Yes, it is a 2.35 CIH setup. I use a Panamorph anamorphic lens. My projector has the capability to zoom and even do it automatically, but I find I get better PQ using the lens.
Cheesegeezer 3104 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Nice set ups guys, i need to build a house before i can enjoy a cinema like that!! Very jealous 1
yardameus 221 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I'd be jealous if someone threw a picture of a 60" flatscreen and 7.1 stereo on here...
wraslor 70 Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Here's a shot of the other wall as I'm getting things setup.

So many home theaters seem to go for the black leather solo seating arrangement. But movies are a shared experience - and prime cuddle time for the missus or the kids. And laid out solo or on a boys night with a 6 pack and a real movie! Sofas all the way! 1
Aussiedroid 56 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Seriously awesome setups guys! I finally have a house big enough for setting up a dedicated theatre and those pics really give me some inspiration. I don't want to ask how much those setups cost but I am curious what the damage would be for those lifesize mannicans like the predator? They are super!
wraslor 70 Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 They are actually costumes, you can find them finished from 1k to 3k depending on what version you go with. Google the hunters lair, there is a community dedicated to them. 1
swhitmore 781 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Funnily enough, I don't have any great photos of the final product (I'll take some tonight if I remember). I do have some good photos of the construction though. Theatre Room Renovations
