I hate to start a new thread since this seems like one of those questions that must have been asked b4, but I'm not finding it. Also, I thought I was going crazy, until I saw post #2 in this thread, which suggests the feature may have been/is there (http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/14714-exclude-movie-or-tv-show/&do=findComment&comment=154209).

I recently reinstalled my WHS 2011 from scratch. I backed up Embys settings and got most of it back the way I had it. However, I could swear I used to be able to block a users access on a folder level so that certain TV shows and movies didn't show up for them. I have a family member who only watches children's programs and movies. After the re-install, when I go to restrict access (so she doesn't have to scroll through all the adult shows), I can only restrict access by library rather than by folder. The problem is, she has TV shows and I have TV shows. Both are in the TV library.

I realize I can create tags but there are a LOT of different shows. Was I on mushrooms or am I missing something? Server Version 3.0.5724.5

The way I do this is to have two libraries. You could have Kids TV and TV. Then give her access to just the Kids TV, and do the same for movies.

You can also use ratings but then all the kids stuff shows up for you too.

The best way to do it is to separate them into separate libraries as Adrian suggests.

I wasn't aware you can create new libraries other than the default that come with the installation.

I found creating a simple user name and manually logging in to that user for questionable content as the best solution. That way if I am watching family oriented content logged onto my main profile the other content doesn't appear. I use a two digit code as the manual user and weather by design or not EMBY complains the first time that the password is incorrect even though there is no password. I actually love this "error" as it prevents people from stumbling onto it.
