drudisaile 0 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Hello, and thank you in advance for any help that is offered. I installed emby today to see if I like it any more than Plex, which I have used for about 6 months now. I like Plex alot, but I don't like the fact that in order to do any sort of parental control and assign folder access you have to pay. I got the server downloaded and installed without issue. I have the clients set up on both of my Roku 2 boxes and they are able to access media from the server. The problem I am encountering is that when I scan the library it gets about 1/3 of the way through and will not proceed any further. Any ideas on what may be the issue or what I need to do in order to try and nail the problem down?
Raff 51 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Welcome to Emby! I'm just another community member, but wanted to let you know rather than guessing it is better if you can provide your logs: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/ Specifically, that thing at the bottom about posting your server logs. If you have any questions, let us know.
drudisaile 0 Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) Thank you for your response! Here are the logs that I have so far: server-63578681598.txt server-63578681600.txt server-63578685703.txt As I was looking through these logs I saw alot of the following: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. What does this error indicate? Edited September 24, 2015 by drudisaile
Happy2Play 9783 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 As I was looking through these logs I saw alot of the following: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. What does this error indicate? They indicate artwork requests for artwork that doesn't exist as you see the request above the errors to either TMDB, Fanart, or OMDB.
Luke 42083 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Perhaps your first library scan after setting up the library hasn't completed? I don't think the scan is hung here. If it were hung you would not be able to cancel it and it would just stay stuck on cancelling. But it cancelled successfully. I think it is just taking a long time. You can just let it finish and subsequent scans will be faster. You can also go into the metadata-> services section and disable downloading for things you might not care about. Then it should complete quicker.
