techworld 3 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, I'm recently migrated from Plex to Emby. I'm currently testing Emby see if it suits my needs. I notice that Emby use more RAM and CPU compare to Plex. My actual issue is that my Music and Videos files are displayed length 0:00 on my TV. The media files are played fine though. However, it displayed fine on Plex Media. I'm currently using default settings on Emby. Edited September 24, 2015 by techworld
Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 The issue isn't so much the server but we probably need to learn about sharp tv's. we don't currently have a dlna profile for them, so it's going to use the default profile which will transcode a lot. We haven't really had someone with a sharp come forward to help build a profile.
techworld 3 Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Ok, I see. Does each smart TV needs a DLNA profile for Emby to play/view properly? I'm using Plex, and there's no DLNA profile set up in the server, but it working fine.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Yes each device has/needs it own profile. And Plex has built in profiles for each device just like Emby.
techworld 3 Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) I just created my a profile for my Sharp Aquos TV, and it's working Where do I put this at in Emby? Edited October 2, 2015 by techworld
Luke 42077 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I just created my a profile for my Sharp Aquos TV, and it's working Where do I put this at in Emby? well done! if you post it here we can take a look at it and hopefully include it in the next version of the server.
techworld 3 Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) It would be convenience if I can see the device's activities in the web gui. Edit: I created the profile, but I don't see Emby detecting my TV at all. Media are playing, but videos are auto skip after 20 minutes. If anybody have time, and knowledge, please take a look. Issues: --Can't fast forward any media. --Media files are display length 0:00. Emby Log.txt Sharp_Aquos_LE755U.xml Edited October 3, 2015 by techworld
sphar1970 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 well done! if you post it here we can take a look at it and hopefully include it in the next version of the server. Well I've got a Sharp AQUOS LC-80LE940X, I'm using the Sharp_Aquos_LE755U.xml from member techworld above Emby debug is reporting the same DLNADOC/1.50 SHARP-AQUOS-DMP/2.0W HTTP header. I've copied the XML file to C:\Users\ME\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\config\dlna\user and will see if DLNA works properly. The TV searches for and detects the Emby Server but it doesn't show any of the movie images, only folders.
