IBN Support for TV Channel Logos

Recommended Posts

hi, the new option to easily edit artwork is particularly useful for adding channel logos, but would it be possible to ad support for these logos to the IBN folder. that way we could place the correctly named logos in place so that emby can import then and also provide back up. i don't fancy adding 200 logos by hand too many times! cheers

It looks like my TV channel logos for TV Shows are under Studio in my metadata. Does it not work the same for Live TV?

No, I don't see all my live tv channels listed in that location so I guess not. It would make the most sensible place to keep them though

They are most likely stored in the metadata folder which replaced the ImagesByName folder a while back. Unfortunately, everything is stored by GUID so it is difficult for humans to browse that information directly.

Though I admit to guessing since I don't have the hardware for LiveTV.

My metadata (for normal TV, Movie and apparently Recording Studios) is not stored by GUID - it is stored by name. You just reminded me what a mess my Studios are - ah, public metadata how I love and hate you at the same time!

well as i posted i only removed my non default IBN folder on 19th Sept. Emby recreated it in the c:user\appdata\emby server\imagesbyname\ with folders for people etc below this so i'm not sure my observations line up with the comments here.

but its all a bit moot now. (i guess) a change within emby since i made the post has lead to the removal of the 193 hand added channel icons so there's nothing there to be backed up any more. another case of emby seeking to run before its taken its stabilisers off...

i'm not going to re add them by hand for you to destroy all that work with a change again so please could this request be added so that i can name them properly and have emby pick them up automatically?
