dspencer1234567890 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Hi. I've started using Emby in the last two days, so am probably doing something stupid. I added a new Media Folder, i.e. Movies - and called it "Movies". This was accepted but the Media Locations options did not come up. Waited about 10 minutes, including flicking between screens - nothing made the selection come up. In the end, I had to reboot my Windows 10 machine for it to ask me where the files are. My files are in two locations, so had to do this whole process twice! Next, add another Media Folder, i.e. Movies, and called it "3D Movies". Reboot! Enter location of files. Reboot. Sync. No films showing up on Server in either "Suggestions", "Movies" and "Trailers". TV client does show Movies, but they are not linked with Metadata. Is this a known bug, or have I done something daft? And why do I have to keep rebooting?! server-63578296156.txt
AdrianW 1058 Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 It's worth pointing out that "Sync" is for copying content to devices (like tablets and phones) - "Scan Media Library" is used to detect new content and add it to the library. Have you tried a different browser? I have no problems getting "Media Locations" to appear in Chrome: Even with a major problem like you're experiencing there should be no need to reboot your PC. Just restart Emby Server (there will be a green icon in the tray, there's a restart option on the right-click menu). But, there really should be no reason to restart the server except when a new version has been installed.
