I thought I'd start a topic on H Series TV's that work and don't work.

Please list below if your H Series TV works OK or not, along with your model and firmware version. Also please add what country you're in.

By OK, I mean that you can install @@chessdragon136's app via the Smart Hub and don't have to run it from a permanently attached USB stick.

NB. The app cannot be installed on any Samsung Smart TV that has Tizen as it's OS.

I have successfully installed it on the following H Series TV's;

UE32H5500 - fw:TBA - UK

UE50H5500 - fw:TBA - UK

I'll add the firmware once I've checked it out.

I would be particularly interested in whether H series owners can view subtitles. If you could include this along with your model number and firmware version it would be extremely helpful. Thinks.

UE55H6400

UE48H6400

UE40H6400

All UK variants and all installed app from IP.

It does look like my TV's have had an upgrade since installing so not sure if there will be issues now.

SilentAssassin, if you could post your fw versions that would be great.  The H series TVs that stopped working all stopped after loading the latest fw and could no longer use the IP method to upgrade

Hi mate,

Can you please tell me how to install 0.591 beta version?

Its been a pain not to have subs for a while now and so far I tried couple versions with USB (didn't work) and also updated from the IP 173.230.139.54 chessdragon provides, but that version doesn't show subs for me as well..

My Samsung model is: UE40F6400

Thanks in advance,

please help I am despaired!! I understand apparently English but since I am from Greece, subs are big help in many cases :)

You'll have to wait for @ to supply the details.

He has taken Chess's code and tweaked it to get subtitles working.

That is great news!

Thank you for the update CBers,

I will look forward for this then!!

Ah, I see @@CBers has outed our little side project! I'll make 0.591 available for all to try very soon. Please note that we have already confirmed that that not 100% of problems with subtitles are fixed by this, but many are. It just depends on your exact model and firmware combination, hence this thread to gather information. On the plus side, nobody's experience has got worse with the update so we seem to be going in the right direction.

Please give us a couple of days to finalise a release candidate and we'll get it to you.

Thanks for your patience.

Yes firmware 2770.

Application is the last one available by IP.

OK, so after the unscientific poll, we have the following results so far:

H Series TVs that installs the app OK via IP:

Capture1087.jpg

H Series TVs that can't install the app via IP:

None

Am I reading that right ??

My TV's are firmware 2770 and UK variants. I've just installed v.592 using the IP install method.
