Change password

how do I change the password of my emby connect account?  I went through the steps to recover the password and it assigned a password. I want to change that to one I know!

You will see your screen name in the top right of the forum.  Click the drop down then My Setting-Email & Password

Hi there

I believe my EMBY account may be compromised
Google advised me of some of my passwords that may be comptomised

How can I change my password?

this is sooooooooooooo not intuitive in any way. why would i go to a forum to change my password??? 🙄

There are two user accounts when it come to Emby (Local and Connect), a Connect account my be linked to a local account and both in reality should have separate passwords.

The local user and password is controlled by you the Emby admin, but the Connect user is ie the exact same as a forum account and must be changed via Emby online means either in the forum user menu or online forgot password link.

Just to be clear, most people do not even need to use Emby Connect, because they have one server and can access it directly.  Starting with Emby Connect rather than concentrating on the Server itself is what generates the perpetual confusion that we see - and people thinking it's like Plex..
