Find out reason for transcoding?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Is it possible in the logging to find out why a specific file was transcoded?

I'm trying to watch big buck bunny h264 mov in the web client but it wants to transcode, while I could swear I could play without before.

Web browser is google chrome Version 45.0.2454.85 (64-bit)

Thank you.

If you haven't done so check the transcoding settings you have in emby server, what the bandwidth setting is and also check on the emby client what user preferences are set for transcoding/bandwidth, there could be the answer to your problem (if you haven't done so already).

I don't think logs would include a reason for why transcoding was done.
