maisto99 0 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I'm currently running Windows 8.1 with Emby Server Version 3.0.5724.3 I have two SiliconDust Model: HDHR3-CC tuners with the latest Firmware: 20150826. I don't have any issues with playback, that works perfectly. I don't have an M-Card plugged in either unit, they are strictly Clear QAM. So no guide or channel mapping detail is available. I'm still unable to get the channels to re-map. They continue to show the 5xxx channel series. Can someone explain if Emby is capable of remapping without an M-Card by using a ClearQAM signal? In general does Emby re-map the physical RF channels to the virtual channel assignment? Thank you! Emby_Log(20150911).txt

They are used strictly for Clear QAM so there are no M-Cards plugged in either unit. Since I don't have M-Cards installed my cable provider's channel mapping and guide detail are not available. Having this configuration and then scanning for channels, you windup with virtual channels on the SiliconDust units that are in the 5000 range. No issues with Emby LiveTV playback, or entering SchedulesDirect account detail into Emby and getting it to load and persist. Where I am having issues is with channel mapping. I've attached the Lineup.JSON from my units. Hope it helps! Once I get the channels to map (not sure how I can do this and I could use some suggestions) I'm sure the guide will populate. rkulagow 19 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 If you use the software that comes with the HDHR and have it run a scan, does the Silicon Dust Windows software result in a scan that's reasonable? Does it indicate the callsigns and such? Because the lineup.json that you included doesn't really have anything useful in it.

If I provide the mapping (virtual to physical channel) can a guide be made? It costs me $$$ to get an M-Card from my provider, and I was hoping this would be my solution. Any ideas?

rkulagow 19 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Since neither the SiliconDust windows software nor the lineup.json indicate what's on the channels, that complicates things. If you really wanted to, you could watch the channels one-by-one, figure out what it is, and let us (Schedules Direct) know. We could then add whatever you _are_ able to find out about the lineup into the lineup map. For other users that have QAM, their provider at least puts in the name of the station as the "GuideName", and that simplifies things. If you did have an MCard, or were willing to get one for a month, then I wrote a perl script that would use a Prime and a non-Prime to get QAM information. If the Prime is tuned to a channel and it has an MCard, you can 1) Get a channel map of the entire lineup, because that's part of what the MCard lets you do. 2) Tell the prime to "go to channel 2", (and you know what the callsign is) and then 3) ask the prime: What's the QAM information for this channel? The, repeat for all channels that aren't copy-once, and you could build a QAM map, and know what was on each channel. The script then gave you the chance to use a non-Prime to confirm that what the Prime generated was actually tuneable with just QAM.

Don't go through the effort of doing an entire dump, just do your "top 5". If we can't figure out how to use it then there's no point in going through the effort of proceeding with the rest.
