I have server up and running and all my tv media is on an internal hard-drive and everything works fine with it. But when i go to try and add my movie media on my external hard-drive i can see the drive but when i click on it to add it kicks me out to the login screen once i log back in it is still asking for a path for movies

well the fix is going to be show you a graceful error message rather than bumping you out of the system. the true problem is here

Access to the path "/mnt/usb-

Toshiba_External_USB_3.0_20130319025171-0:0-part1" is denied.

System.UnauthorizedAccessException

at System.IO.Directory/<EnumerateKind>c__Iterator0.MoveNext

it looks like the server doesn't have access to that location.
