skank 85 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I tagged my "3d movies" folder as "3d" However when i click in one of those movies, it doesnt have the "3d" tag, is this normal?
Luke 42079 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 yes. see here for our 3d naming guidelines: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/3D%20videos
skank 85 Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 yes. see here for our 3d naming guidelines: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/3D%20videos Sorry i meant "label, not tag How about labels? Anyway now you are talking about tags. I tagged every file with .3d But it seems it needs A second tag as well, but i dont see a full 3d tagname, only sbs and tAb , but they are full..

skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 The wiki explains how to tag 3d content: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/3D%20videos Euh, did you read what i post I meant label not tag
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Good question , i dont know But like in kodi, you can do both too Tags are in the filename but then you have labels which aren in the name, but files are "marked"
bluemonkey07 590 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Haha if you don't know how do you know if you meant label or tag?
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Its confusing I want to be able to filter on labels "kids and "3d" in kodi But it shouldnt be in the filename What is it then? And how do i do it?
bluemonkey07 590 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) In the metadata editor under tag tag them as kids and/or 3d Or you could add them as genres instead Edited September 14, 2015 by Vidman
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Well i did "the root folder" The movies inside, doesnt show it Strangely Is this normal? Are they tagged then? So for ex I have \kids\Movie X \kids\Movie Y In metadata editor, i tagged "kids" as kids But when i click Movie X, it has no kids tag
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Haha if you don't know how do you know if you meant label or tag? I figured it out (difference) For 3d files naming, --> those are flags not tags For labels -> those are tags not labels lol
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Tags are not inherited. Euh sorry but inherited? What does it mean?
ebr 16184 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Euh sorry but inherited? What does it mean? That means putting a tag on a folder is not going to cause that tag to exist on all the items within that folder. Only the folder itself.
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Oh damn, so i have to manually tag all 400 items? That's not user friendly Edited September 14, 2015 by skank
skank 85 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Or is there a way to say tag 100 items at once?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 You could do something similar to this.
ebr 16184 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Tags are an advanced feature that are not really used much by the server or the apps at this point so functionality related to them is limited right now. We will eventually get to where we use them more. It is just a matter of time.
skank 85 Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Well, How would you do it then? In kodi, i need to create a playlist for those only with "tag X"
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Well, How would you do it then? In kodi, i need to create a playlist for those only with "tag X" You can either use the metadata editor to edit the tags by hand or use the automated method an earlier poster suggested. Your .NFO files are just XML files with a different extension. I expect you can adapt the process to them without trouble.
