kreek123 1 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 So the media scan completes, I can view the library on multiple devices, I can mark shows watched that I've already watched and it syncs across all devices, but if I actually attempt to watch anything, it fails. I've attached the log. I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! server-63577571267.txt
Luke 42077 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 can you tell us what app you used? can you describe what you mean by fail? was a transcoding log generated in the same log folder?
kreek123 1 Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 Attempted playback from Kodi V15.1, when I select any file to play, it sits for a while, then I get a popup that says "One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message."No, there is no transcoding log.
ebr 16170 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Probably permissions or setup issue related to the Kodi machine getting access to the files.
kreek123 1 Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 If I setup Kodi by just adding the files the normal way, they play fine. It's when I try to bring Emby into the picture that they stop playing.
xnappo 1611 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Please post the Kodi log - see 'How to report a problem' thread in this forum. It is almost certainly an issue with how you defined the paths to the libraries, or server permissions/password.
imadunatic 28 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 If I setup Kodi by just adding the files the normal way, they play fine. It's when I try to bring Emby into the picture that they stop playing. I've been having issues lately of Windows 7 not assigning sharing permissions correctly and it exhibits this exact behavior. Usually the kodi log will state something along the lines of "no such file or directory exists". I need to play with entering my windows login info on Emby and forget about the sharing permissions, but I haven't quite got that far in my backend conversion....
Angelblue05 4132 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 The best thing to do is post your Kodi log, then we can help troubleshoot your paths.
