Per Season "Extras" or "Specials" (Shows/TV)

I understand the the "season 0" folder for special. But is it possible or even does it make more sense to support per a per season "extra" and or "specials" folder(s) ?

 

Example :

TV\
 Highlander\
  Season 1\
   Extras\
    Make the net intro.mkv

   Highlander - S01E01 - The Gathering.mkv
   Highlander - S01E02 - Family Tree.mkv

What would also be nice is a way to differentiate 'specials' and 'extras'. Specials being episodes out of a regular season and extras being making of kind of stuff...

It is already possible to show specials within the seasons they belong.  Check out the fields "Airs before Season", "Airs after Season" and "Airs before Episode".

What i mean is more a way to not have the extras be added to the list of episodes and be its own sub list of items... a bit like it works in the movies section. ...Although ebr's answer might be what NomasCF was after...

I guess that "would" work although it it would require needing to edit meta data though the "metadata manger" instead of the system being able to figure it out by it's name. Which honestly is a lot of work and really not something I'm keen on doing as I've done never had to edit a item directly though "Metadata Manager" as I've always relied on the naming system to figure everything out.

The problem with coming up with new file naming conventions is there needs to be a really good reason for it. Our naming guidelines are designed to be compatible with a long list of other applications. Adding new conventions means a lot of affected parties have to be notified, given a chance to discuss, etc. It can be difficult.

 

I know you may not like the current way it is done, but it works, and it's the generally accepted way of doing it not only by us but quite a few other applications as well.
