Poor performance w/ Windows 10?

First off, let me say I think Emby is great! I've been using Plex for years, stumbled upon Emby and wow...

Anyway - yesterday I "upgraded" to Win 10. Since then Emby has been slow, worse yet, the performance when streaming videos is pretty abysmal. Very choppy.

I went as far as uninstalling/reinstalling Emby but it didn't help.

Any ideas? I'm happy to do a clean install of Win 10, but only if it'll help. I don't know if I'll roll back to 8.1...some of the features of win 10 are too good to pass up.

Version - 3.0.5724.3

I use Android TV, Windows, and Web Clients. All exhibit the same behavior. Slow, Choppy, and Stuttering playback. Only started w/ Win 10

I've attached the most recent server log and transcode files.

Right, right. I'll go through the steps. :-)

Ok. Hopefully the log files will help!

Please enable debug logging under advanced, restart the server, and repeat. Also, please describe the problem when you attach a log. for instance, I have no idea what app you used. Aside from that, you have a lot of plugins installed, so you could try removing them and running with the base server while troubleshooting.

So stating Android TV, Windows Client, and Web Client isn't enough? Ok. Got it.

Sorry, I'm a little fuzzy on how I need to describe the problem. I thought I did in the original post. Videos that would stream without issues under 8.1 now stutter. Often there are moments where the video becomes pixelated and then returns to normal.

Like I said, I can only attribute it to Windows 10. I guess it could be a conflict with a plugin?

Here's another log w/ Debug on.

I uninstalled all plugins. Helped with overall navigation speed and seemed to fix the Windows App Client.

Android TV was still having the same playback problems - UNTIL - I unchecked the embedded VLC player option. All seems well now.

Version 1.0.80g

Unfortunately, I've gone back to Plex and have deleted Emby from my systems. It's unfortunate but overall, I think Emby is more suited to the "free" side. Where if you have issues with it, it's really expected that you, the end user, needs to spend the time and effort to get under the hood and figure it out yourself. Which I get and support - it's just something that I don't have time for - which is part of the reason why I paid for it. :)

Good luck with Emby! Maybe I'll come back around to it in the future.

I think you might now realise that the 'upgrade' to Windows 10 is, in some circumstances, not worth it. The O/S has so many bugs at the moment, I'd leave it for at least 6 months then see where it is. Emby on Win7 with a server backend (I use WHS2011) is just brilliant.

I disagree, I am running windows 10 with no issues, I have about 7 people logging in and using my server on multiple devices, Roku, iPhone, iPad, Adroid, Chromecast.

I really like Windows 10.
