Slouchmr 2 Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I want to setup my server to share with family member and they have a mac. My upload can only 1.5mbit connection. So was wondering what program can i install on my family mac so they can stream movies to their machine. i am finding the web based a bit of hit and miss with it working. Does Kodi support the transcoding or will it play the movie at full size? All my movies around the 10gb so it needs to be transcoded.
Luke 42080 Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 the web app is perfectly fine, just make sure to configure the bitrate setting to something below 1.5mbps. Try the 720kbps setting. That will allow for some wiggle room as you also use the connection yourself.

I actually have 2.5mbits and made it 1.5mpbs i dont normally have problems with it but this latest build i have a couple of issues. First one was the video will keep getting error. I worked out it was to do with https so i created vpn link and now it can play the movies fine but its still not consistent they are saying they are still having issues.
