Edit this user's profile, image and personal preferences - Affects all users

Hello,

 

Just spotted, when i go into the server "Users" page and adjust settings under the heading "Edit this user's profile, image and personal preferences." i find the change then applies to all users.

 

Not sure if im doing anything wrong.    I have an account for Friends and Family and i want to limit the bitrate to 2Mb so my upload connection doesn't get saturated.   The account i use for myself and lan users i generally run at 10-15Mb.

 

As far as i can tell, any settings which are under that new screen carry, such as display settings and home screen.

user preferences are for each user. if you need to limit your outgoing btirate, better to use the global setting under playback -> streaming

Hi, it's the user rates I want to set however what ever setting I set on one user is applying to the other users although I'm only changing one users settings.

 

I'll snap some screen shots and post later on to show what's happening.

Ok, this is by design. The bitrate is displayed under user settings for using the web interface, but it's not saved into the user's profile. it has nothing to do with a user but rather with the device they're connecting from, so that setting is saved to the device, in this case, the browser.
